Pet Peeve of the Day
I see more and more people bringing large rolling suitcase-type briefcases to work each day. What are people taking to and from work each day that is so heavy that they need rollers? I take a laptop home sometimes but its not nearly heavy enough to justify a rolling suitcase to carry it in. These "roller-cases" are bulky and sometimes loud and the people that drag them behind them are often getting them in the way of others. Maybe I'll have to start asking people what they are carrying.

Texas Tech vs. Texas
The four calls that bothered me the most:
1. The first "touchdown" to Jordan Shipley. The heel came down out of bounds. I don't understand how you can interpret the rules to say that it was still a touchdown.
2. Texas 3rd "touchdown" (Colt McCoy sneak from the 1 yard line). Go back and look at this one if you still have the game recorded. I'm not sure what happened on this play thanks to ABC/ESPN missing the snap while looking at a replay, but I'm pretty sure McCoy fumbled the snap, fell on it, then got up, and burrowed into the end zone. You can see on the replay just before they went to commercial that his knee (if not both knees), were down at about the 2 yard line before he moved forward towards the goal line. Somehow, the on-field officials, replay officials, and game announcers all missed this.
3. On the drive that Leach got so mad about, the fourth down play where a TD was called back for holding. Melton clearly hit Harrell helmet to helmet well after the ball was gone. The holding was called but somehow the roughing the passer was missed completely. Even the ABC announcer - after seeing the flag - said the flag was for roughing the passer. Apparently the referee, whose job it is to watch for this specifically, missed it.
4. Fourth quarter, Harrell is intercepted by a Texas linebacker (Bobino I think). The intended receiver (Britton?), was clearly interfered with by Bobino as the ball was in the air. Harrell was furious and took off his helmet as he left the field which drew the ire of the ABC announcer.
I realize that even if all these calls had gone the other way, the outcome may have been the same. The two Texas TDs in question came on first down so they easily could have scored on the next play. They also could have fumbled or been intercepted. It just sucks to be a Tech fan and expect calls to go against you before the opening kickoff.

Friday sports and predictions
Sports Guy whines about the officiating in the Pats-Colts game.
Nice profile of Texas Tech LB Brian Duncan.
The Mavs hold off the Warriors. I didn't get to watch but from what I've read, the Mavs did not impose their will, looked soft, and were lucky to win.
Predictions:
Texas Tech 28, Texas 31 (I hope I'm wrong on this outcome)
Texas A&M 6, Missouri 38
Dallas 27, NY Giants 20
Pet Peeve of the Day: People who try to get on an elevator before the people who are already on the elevator get off. Do they think I just rode the elevator down to the lobby so I can ride it right back up. Why not let me off before barging on?

First entry
Maybe no "24" this season?
David Moore thinks all the Mavs changes are due to the Warriors exposing them.
Pet Peeve of the Day: Eating Ice
Why would anyone get a cup of ice and just eat it by itself. I can see eating some from a drink (water, soda, etc.), but by itself? I don't get it.
